Chiefs are Super 15 champions!

Chiefs from New Zealand retained their title and have become Super 15 back to back champions. In the final which took place in Hamilton, they have beaten Australian Brumbies 27:22.

The game was dramatic and dominated by the hosts who stayed in front for the most of the time - after 40 minutes they were winning 9:16. Brumbies took a 10-point lead twice but the champions did not want to give up the crown without fight. Change of tactics and introducing fantastic players from the bench proved the key to success. In the final 20 minutes the hosts scored 15 points and did not let the rivals reply.

Chiefs have joined the elite teams which managed to defend the title in the competition. Before them, only Blues, Crusaders and Bulls managed to do it. The game, in spite of a number of errors, was played at high level. The pace was fast and the match is definitely worth watching. I would recommend it even to the fans who do not normally follow Super 15. If you are interested you can follow this link Chiefs - Brumbies final. Chiefs celebrated their victory with the impressive haka which they presented to the audience after the game.
