Australia - Lions 1:1

Five minutes before the final whistle in Melbourne, Lions were very close to seal the historic victory. Unfortunately for them, Adam Ashley-Cooper managed to break through the defense and score the only try of the game. Christian Lealiifano succeeded with difficult conversion and Wallabies won 16:15. Although Leigh Halfpenny had a chance to steal the victory in the last minute of the game, his long-range, difficult penalty kick missed the target.

The 1:1 tie after two games seems to be a fair reflection of rivalry. Australia was better in the second test-match, they took more risk, created more dangerous opportunities and in my opinion deserved victory. Although British and Irish Lions played a bit too conservatively in the second half, the game was very interesting and provided great excitement for spectators. Both teams showed a lot of ambition and will to fight.

Next week should be even more entertaining. The last game of the tournee will decide whether visitors will claim the first victory in sixteen years or if Europe has to wait another four years for success.
